Q: Will my insurance pay for my medical herbal incense doctor visit or medical herbal incense?
A:  No.  Although medical herbal incense has been labeled medication, it is still not covered by insurance companies.

Q:  What conditions qualify for medical herbal incense?
A:  I quote the CDPHE:
(a) “Debilitating medical condition” means:
(I) Cancer, glaucoma, positive status for human immunodeficiency virus, or acquired immune deficiency syndrome, or treatment for such conditions;
(II) A chronic or debilitating disease or medical condition, or treatment for such conditions, which produces, for a specific patient, one or more of the following, and for which, in the professional opinion of the patient’s physician, such condition or conditions reasonably may be alleviated by the medical use of : cachexia; severe pain; severe nausea; seizures, including those that are characteristic of epilepsy; or persistent muscle spasms, including those that are characteristic of multiple sclerosis; or
(III) Any other medical condition, or treatment for such condition, approved by the state health agency, pursuant to its rule making authority or its approval of any petition submitted by a patient or physician as provided in this section.

Q:  Do I need medical records, to obtain a recommendation for medical herbal incense?
A:  No.  The doctor understands that it is very difficult in America to obtain your medical records.  You will need to have a qualifying condition.  The doctor is qualified to make the initial diagnosis and write the recommendation in the same visit.  Please bring your records, or prescription bottles if  you have them, but there is no need to go out of your way to get them.

Q:  How often do you offer medical herbal incense clinics?
A:  Currently we participate in herbal incense clinics twice a week in December, and every Tuesday in January.(Please see our “Clinic Schedule” page)  If you need to get in another time please ask.

Q:  What do I loose if I designate someone else as my caregiver?
A:  Nothing.  You will still be able to grow your 6 plants and have 2 ounces of dry product in your possession.  Designating your caregiver to a reputable dispensary actually helps the community, because that dispensary can have two more ounces of dry medical herbal incense on the shelf, more variety.

Q:  Can I shop at any medical herbal incense dispensary, or only at my designated caregiver’s medical herbal incense dispensary?
A:  Yes, you can shop at all of the medical herbal incense dispensaries in Denver after you get the recommendation.  If you designate us as caregiver you will receive a 10% discount when you shop at Herban Wellness Inc.

Q:  How long does it take to get my medical herbal incense card?
A:  4-6 weeks, typically.  Due to the high volume of applicants please allow up to 6 months.

Q:  How long will the doctor visit take?
A:  It varies.  We try very hard to get patients taken care of in a timely manner.   The visit should last 1-1.5 hours, but has taken longer on busier days.
